mcclintock has an amazing website

mcclintock has an amazing website that maintains a visual record of almost every item in his home. it is a comprehensive (and very detailed) web catalogue of all his possessions in his home. the fun comes from looking at all his bookshelves and drawers, looking for gems of interesting personal stuff that tells a lot about him.

get an update notification when your favourite blog is updated, via msn messenger. the catch is that the blogger must register his or her changes on weblogs.com’s changes.xml.

teoma.com has risen as well to challenge google’s throne. similiar to google, it looks beyond keywords, by searching “community” pages for relevant links and “authorities” among these communities.

art with electronics are impressive as well. on a larger scale, gpsdrawing has a collection of outline art created with gps tracks over cities. in fact, you can find a spider in oxford, england! i wonder when will i start seeing such works in moma, guggenheim or tate modern.

there’s also a thin line between art and ridiculous nonsense, such as the origami boulder.

our planet came close to experiencing an asteroid impact. the ironic part of it was that astronomers noticed the object after the close approach to the planet.

the national public radio has a new linking policy and it is drawing iron curtains on web hyperlinks. wired has a humourous report on these clueless law and policy makers about the internet.

did you know that dvd rental requires you to rewind the discs before returning them to the stores? apparently blockbuster rental owns plenty of dvd players with rewinding features. wow!

nikolai has an interesting idea

nikolai has an interesting idea on linking to other blogs. instead of using blog names as titles, use a phrase from the blog itself. honestly, it does make the link more intriguing.

it is scary know that the internet is being archived by the internet archive. old designs and pages from as far back as 1998 can be found there. anything that was written in the past is indexed. if you didn’t know, google has searchable archive of usenet newsgroup posting as well. your past may return to haunt you.
