if you’re a techie geek or science buff, you might have amused yourself with hollywood’s version of science and physics. the insultingly stupid movie physics has good list of them with detailed explanation. they missed out the common mistake of space travel physics. humans worked hard to defy gravity on earth and yet they managed to create artificial gravity on non-rotating space vessel. it could have been a blessing in disguise. imagine everyone making matrix moves in duels while in space.
i frequently hear and read remarks about the lack of beautiful sunsets in asia. these remarks were further supported by evidence seen in foreign countries, especially those far from the equatorial line. here’s a rebuttal photo. we do have pretty sunset (and sunrise) to view and admire, in our own homes, anywhere in the world, at the right moment with the right weather. all we need to do is take a moment off our busy lives and watch the beauty of nature.
it is getting more tempting for pc users to own the apple ipod. following the foot steps of xplay, ephpod now makes it possible to download music to the ipod on a pc. creative’s chunky nomad jukebox certainly has an uphill battle to fight against ipod in the design and size department.
entertainment weekly reports on the foresight that george lucas had for yoda on his martial arts capability. the computer graphics people for episode were initially resisting the idea of creating the duel between yoda and count dooku (they probably had nightmares of jar jar binks). their minds were quickly changed when that scene became the most memorable one for the movie and transformed yoda into a hero.
one of the most unique (and eccentric) way of keep weblog is found in the daily photo project. it is not just any photo, but photo of himself, every single day, from 1998. i’m very impressed by his dedication and effort.
